I saw a video of craftsmen creating these beautiful sculpture like murals on walls and while it was just plaster, it looked amazing and I wanted to play around with it more.
I usually add texture via thick luscious paint, however this time I created the texture first and at the time was tempted just to leave it the white of the acrylic, but I didn't and started to play with color, pearly, ethereal tones for the fairy/angel and more vivid for the fibrant texture and the finished it off with a sweep of metallic over the ridges.
It's a little tedious this way, trying to get the paint in all the wells created by the paste and then not to fill them up negating anything I had done, but when I let go of being so tight with it, I just started playing like I intended in the first place and it all seemed to work.
It's not really my usual style or taste, so it's much easier to let it go for a small price.
A fun, highly textured piece, with lot's of metallic and pearly hues to give it an ethereal feeling, like you are pushing back the veil that obscures the unseen magic ✨
